About The Photographer

Welcome to my website and photo gallery.  I am pleased that you are here to view my growing collection of photos for your enjoyment and hope that many of them will strike you in a certain way.  So many people have different likes and dislikes, so as time goes along and I add more photos, hopefully I will have something that will touch everyone who comes to view.

Within these web pages you will see that many of my photos are of landscapes, flowers and nature.  Some are of objects within those areas as well.  Each one somehow moved me in some way to capture it and keep it.  Other photos are of  things that were just different such as water flowing off the roof gutter of a school bus and for some reason, it struck me as something to be captured.  I am sure not every photo I take will be pleasing to everyone since we all have different likes and dislikes, but it is my hope that there will be something for everybody to like, or to think about, or to just look at and see the story the photo contains inside.

The majority of my photos are shot in the Northern NJ area where I have lived my whole life.  While this area can be very close and congested in places, there are still many things that make a great shot.  I usually do not alter my photos in the computer since I believe that the picture I take tells the visual story just from where it is.  Some others will remove certain things from their photos such as buildings or a telephone pole or power lines to make their picture prettier.  That is fine if that is what they want to do.  However, in my eyes, that was not how I saw it.  Sometimes in this area it is next to impossible to take some shots without some form of suburbia in them and to me, that makes part of the story of where that great sunset took place.  It did not take place in the plains of the Midwest US, but here in crowded suburban NJ or in NYC.  Many of my sunset photos have tops of buildings in them, and to some, that is unacceptable, but to me, it is a suburban sunset;  that is where it took place, the buildings tell the story and even offer some great framing of interesting dark shapes against a colorful sky.  I try to keep my photo prints close to how I saw them because if I digitally alter them, the photo is not really telling the same story as when I took the photo in the first place.

I am largely self taught in my photography by reading, experimenting and the old trial and error method.  I always want to learn more about the art from different perspectives.  One can never learn all there is to know, there is always something new.  As I learn new techniques and increase my knowledge of photography, I will incorporate that into my new photos which will continue to be added as I move along.

Thanks for leaning about me and my photography and if you have any questions or would just like to chat, please feel free to contact me, I always like to meet and communicate with new people.
